Jarret Irons

Board Member

A native of The Woodlands, Texas, Jarrett Irons is a graduate of The University of Michigan, having earned both his Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management and Communications and a Graduate Degree in Kinesiology. Mr. Irons has performed in leadership roles for over 20 years, most memorably beginning when he was selected as two-time captain for Michigan’s football team.  He began playing football, soccer, basketball, baseball, and running track at a young age. Mr. Irons has gained his competitive edge from years of playing on teams which has resulted in his hardworking, ambitious and team-oriented mindset. Jarrett continues to draw on the importance of goal-setting that he learned in his youth sports experiences in both his professional and personal life. Mr. Irons’ leadership roles in competitive business markets began in Chicago, where Irons worked as Business Development Manager at public relations firm Golin/Harris International, Inc..  There he managed business ventures for Fortune 500 companies such as McDonald’s, Tyson’s Foods and Amazon.  Looking to answer his passion for sports management, Irons joined the International Management Group (IMG) of Chicago as Director of Sales, overseeing areas in elite international sports, events & talent management.  Some of Irons’ personal client portfolios included Tiger Woods, Derek Jeter and Venus and Serena Williams.  Looking to marry his sales expertise with his sports management training, and his desire to improve individual lives, Irons joined the orthopedic joint reconstruction company Smith & Nephew Inc. (S&N) as a medical device sales representative.  Irons built a $15 million book of orthopedic business in the Chicagoland territory.  In 2016, Irons was promoted to S&N Vice President of Sales for the state of Michigan, managing a team of 27 sales representatives and respective Michigan/Ohio territories.  Irons currently resides in Detroit, Michigan with his wife Jazelle and two daughters Bella and Zoe.
